Travaux du IXe Congrès International de Philosophie
Proceedings of the Ninth International Congress of Philosophy
Prepared by Raymond Bayer, Secretary of the Organizing Committee
The 9th International Congress of Philosophy was held in Paris in 1937 during the Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne. Cartesian philosophy was a primary focus of this meeting, in honor of the 300th anniversary of the publication of Discourse on Method. The Travaux du IXe Congrès International de Philosophie contain hundreds of papers that capture the state of philosophy in Europe before the Second World War. These include the invited addresses, as well as papers from the plenary sessions and the various sections.
