Studi Internazionali di Filosofia was established in 1969 as an international, peer-reviewed forum for the publication original philosophical work in several languages. The journal published articles, reviews, and reports in English, French, German, and Italian, and maintained editorial offices in Italy and the U.S. The editors described its purpose as follows: "Promuovere studi e ricerche originali in tutti i campi delle varie scienze filosofiche e dei vari periodi dell storia della filosofia." In 1974 the title was changed to International Studies in Philosophy.
