ABOUT THE SOCIETY
The Society for Philosophy and Technology is an independent international organization that encourages, supports and facilitates philosophically significant considerations of technology. Founded in 1976, the Society is dedicated to the pluralistic exploration of technology, and welcomes a variety of philosophical and other disciplinary approaches in both its conferences and its publications. This journal was established in 1995 as a venue for philosophical reflection on technology and the social problems associated with technology. It succeeded the Society's book series and was established in electronic format reach a larger audience. Since 2000 it has been published as Techné: Research in Philosophy and Technology.
