The Learned Society of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin
The "Learned Society of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin" (KUL) is an academic-publishing institution affiliated with the University. Established in 1934, it is a highly ranked institution and currently has over 700 members.
The purpose of the Society is to support academic work in conformity with the mission of the Catholic University of Lublin. The work of the Society is done within seven faculties: Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of History and Philology, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Legal Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and Off-Campus Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences. The Society also awards the annual Reverend Idzi Radziszewski Prize for “outstanding academic achievements in the spirit of Christian humanism”.
The Society receives research funding from the National Science Centre in Krakow and publishing grants from the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education. It has published over 3000 titles and current projects include the Encyklopedia Katolicka. More information is available HERE.
