There is a necessary link between education for the critical thinking and democratic societies. Therefore, the importance of practicing in each classroom the experience of dialogue, which may strengthen the value of each human being and allow the continuity between school and society, between education and democracy. Through the program for the critical thinking of Mathew Lipman, denominated Philosophy for Children, we present the method that shows how Philosophy has a great value to take to good terms some of the most important purposes in education's reform. The concept of classroom as «comunity of investigation» or as democratic classroom, makes operative a dialogical approach to thinking that involves all of the elements of that comunity in an open and vital process.
