Palimpsest accepts submissions on a rolling basis. Submissions are reviewed anonymously by members of the editorial board and by readers in the appropriate fields. The editors invite submissions of scholarly essays, interviews, and archival documents.
All manuscripts should be submitted electronically to [email protected]. If you have not received a response from us regarding the status of your submission in 10-12 weeks, please contact the editors directly at [email protected] or [email protected]. Manuscripts that are under review elsewhere or that have been previously published will not be considered by
Palimpsest. We also do not accept unsolicited book, film, or video reviews.
All submissions must be typed in Times New Roman 12 font, double spaced, and accompanied by a title page containing the author’s name, postal address, phone number, and e-mail address. Scholarly articles should follow the latest version of the Chicago Manual of Style.
Manuscripts not following this style will not be accepted for publication. To facilitate the process of anonymous peer review the author’s name should not appear on the manuscript. All references and notes that might identify the author should be removed. Manuscripts should
be no longer than 35 pages. An abstract of 150 words must accompany the submission. Submissions without abstracts will not be considered for review.
Publishers should submit poetry, fiction, and non-fiction books for review to the following address:
African American and Diaspora Studies
Box 351516 Station B
Nashville, TN 37235-1516
