Race to the Top, Value-Added Models, and the Catholic View of Education

Race to the Top is resulting in the widespread adoption of value-added models to measure teacher performance. There are concerns about the reliability and validity of these methods and about the wisdom of the Federal government mandating how to conduct non-federal employees’ performance reviews.
