This article is concerned with nonformal, areconstructional or contextual explication of such notions as problem situation, (scientific) problem, kinds of problems and problem-solving. With problem-solving is connected rationality, progressiveness and acceptability of certain methodological or epistemic structures, such as theories and maxi-theories (e.g. research programme, research or intellectual tradition, research themata). Leading ideas of this paper concerning these issues (esp. growth of knowledge, epistemic appraisal of theory-evaluation, standards of rationality and their changes over the course of time) are based on views of the following philosophers of science: K. R. Popper, L. Laudan, J. N. Hattiangadi, J. Kekes, G. L. Pandit.First part of this essay has appeared in „Roczniki Filozoficzne” 34:1986 no 3.

The article is devoted to presentation and critical analysis of the original conception of the truth which was proposed by Mario Bunge. In the first part basic intuitions and pecularity of sets of problems of the truth in natural Sciences were indicated. The second part inwolves the theory of the truth, partly expressing the pecularity of the concept of the factual truth. In the last part the presented conception was campared with the alternative approaches to the factual truth.

The present paper deals with N. R. Hanson’s view of the structure, development and role of scientific theories.Hanson’s methodological considerations are dependent on general assumption that meta- scientifical investigations should involve a logic as well as psychology, history and sociology of science but without confusing the methods of these sciences. In this research programme Hanson sought a simultaneous solution of the heuristic and pragmatic problem of how to precisely describe the process of setting forth new hypotheses and the epistemological problem of how to provide a sound warrant for our claims about the world. For the purpose he designed a logic of discovery constructed on the grounds of retroductive inference.In this approach, theories and hypotheses are the logicolinguistic representations of our understanding of the relations between phenomena. The main role of the theories is to provide an explanatory context in which physical phenomena appear as understandable, intelligible and comprehensible.

In the first part of the paper are succesively studied:a) the symmetry of the mathematical objects recurring in the physic of solid state;b) the method of their introduction into the physic and examination of their symmetry;c) the pattern of crystal lattice as typical for the solid state and its relation to the real crystals;d) the symmetry of the crystal in relation to its various properties.The second part is tocussed on:a) the symmetry of the molecule in relation to its proper frequencies and the energy levels;b) the degree of degeneracy of the energy levels and the proper frequencies as dependent upon the symmetry of the molecule;c) the influence of the symmetry of the disturbance upon the removability of the degeneracy in question;d) the relation between the selection principles and the symmetry of the atom or of the molecule.

Das nichtlineare Auf einanderwirken von Licht und Materie ist seit Mitte der fünfziger Jahre bekannt. Licht entsprechender Stärke erhielt man durch die 1960 entdeckten Laser. Die Nichtlinearität anorganischer Halbleiter wurde erst 1966 von den amerikanischen Physikern K. N. Patel, R. E. Slusher und P. A. Fleury erforscht. Organische Halbleiter wie Eiweisse, Nukleinsäuren und Porphyrine könnten noch später auf ihre optische Nichtlinearität hin untersucht werden.Die organischen Halbleiter bildeten für den Autor die Grundlage des Modells der Bioelektronik. Wesentliche Elemente der Bioelektronik, insbesondere die Vernähung chemischer Reaktionen mit freibeweglichen Elektronen im Eiweisshalbleiter, sollten sich durch Nichtlinearität auszeichnen. Das ergibt sich aus der bei anorganischen Halbleitern festgestellten Nichtlinearität, der Polarisation der Dielektrika, den Piezoeigenschaften und überhaupt den Quantenzuständen. Die Bioelektronik kann einen tiefen Einblick in das Wesen des Lebens liefern, wenn sie die Nichtlinearität zur Methode der Sondierung chemoelektronischer Systeme macht. Vorläufig müsste man die Schlussfolgerungen aus den festgestellten Fällen der nichtlinearen Einwirkung des Lichtes auf die anorganische Materie zur Anwendung bringen. Die Nichtlinearität liefert einen unmittelbaren Einblick in das lebendige Objekt und seine Dynamik. Die Nichtlinearität kann eine gute Methode zur Untersuchung der Quantennatur des Lebens bilden.

Poznanie mechanizmów działania enzymów jest jednym z kluczowych problemów transdyscyplinarnych. Dużą wartość poznawczą ma badanie procesów przebiegających na submolekularnym poziomie organizacji życia. Problematykę tę podejmuje bioelektronika, która kwantowym procesom elektronicznym przypisuje istotne znaczenie w mechanizmach funkcjonowania różnorodnych zjawisk życiowych.W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono próbę wskazania możliwości stworzenia bioelektronicznego modelu katalizy enzymatycznej. Postulowano, że u podstaw tego modelu powinny stać heurystyczne analogie substratowo- -strukturalno-funkcjonalne pomiędzy układami enzymatycznymi a urządzeniami mikroelektronicznymi i chemotronicznymi. Dokonano przeglądu odpowiednich danych uzasadniających poniekąd istnienie wymienionych analogii heurystycznych w odniesieniu do enzymów. Przy rozpatrywaniu analogii substratu omówiono hipotezy wiążące mechanizmy funkcjonowania enzymów z istnieniem piezoelektryczności, półprzewodnictwa elektronowego bądź nadprzewodnictwa wysokotemperaturowego biostruktur. Rozpatrując analogię struktury zwrócono uwagę na możliwość tworzenia się w układach enzymatycznych elektronicznych złącz typu p-n, warstw sandwiczowych i struktur ciekłokrystalicznych. Wreszcie przy analogii funkcji sugerowano, że złącza p-n w układach enzymatycznych mogą pełnić rolę detektora elektromagnetycznego lub emitera promieniowania spójnego bądź funkcję diody elektroluminescencyjnej. Wspomniano także o hipotezie plazmowego mechanizmu katalizy enzymatycznej. Zgodnie z nią, istnieje plazma elektronowa czy elektronowo-dziurowa w enzymach i plazma dipolowa lub jonowa w elektrolicie przy ich powierzchniach oraz', że sprzężenie zjawisk w tych plazmach może być odpowiedzialne za mechanizm katalizy. Wydaje się, że rozwinięcie tej idei może doprowadzić do głębszego zrozumienia zjawisk życiowych i mieć istotne znaczenie przy rekonstrukcji abiogenezy w aspekcie elektronicznym.
