In respect of the question whether mental properties, i.e. contents of mental states, are causally relevant the distinction between type and token physikalism and externalism and their consequences concerning the problems of property dualism and content epiphenomenalism are sketched. Fodor's theory - a functionalist version of token physikalism - is presented and criticized. Distinguishing between naming a causally relevant property and quantifying over it a solution to the threat of epihenomenalism is suggested, and finally Davidson's Anomalous Monism is defended.

After comparing three main views regarding the existing and nature of qualities and quality-Instances - extreme nominalism (qualities do not exist), nominalism (qualities exist and are abstract particulars), and realism (qualities exist and are multiply exemplifiable entities in their instances) - an attempt is made to clarify the real difference between nominalism and realism to show the superiority of the latter. This is done by criticizing two alledged realist positions offered by Nicholas Wolterstorff and Michael Loux. Their views are shown to be versions of nominalism, not realism, and they are compared to the advantages offered by a true, realist account of predication.

The type-free property-theoretic system EC, based on the mediation view of predication, is presented. According to the mediation view, the copula or exemplification is a necessary component of every proposition. It is explained how the system EC relates to Bradley's Regress regarding predication. Finally, the system EC is applied to the Meinong-Russell debate on non-existent objects and it is shown how EC allows us to preserve some important intuitions of both Meinong and Russell

Introspection is often cited as providing rational warrant for either a libertarian or a compatibilist view of human free will. C. A. Campbell argues for the former position, while Adolf Grünbaum argues for the latter. Others, such as Peter van Inwagen, attempt to show that introspection fails to provide adequate warrent for the belief that humans have free will. The paper seeks to demonstrate how all three views are mistaken, and to show just what introspective evidence rationally justifies. The epistemic status of introspective truth claims is also discussed, as is the possibility of parallels between introspection related issues and the mind body problem.
