The Cogito Society

The Cogito Society was established in 1986 at the University of Bristol an effort to bring philosophy and philosophical work to a wider public.

It's principal activity was the publication of its journal, which encouraged an inquiring temperament, by encouraging sceptical e-examination of accepted beliefs and creative dialogue. The purpose of the society, like the journal, was educational in the broad sense of that term.
