Philosophy & Theology

Marquette University Journal

James B. South, Editor

Philosophy & Theology is a peer-reviewed journal that addresses all areas of interest to these two ancient disciplines and explores the common ground that joins them. While Philosophy & Theology is not a journal of the philosophy of religion, one issue each year includes articles devoted to critical contact with the thought and legacy of the theologian Karl Rahner. Rahner’s creative appropriation of diverse theological and philosophical sources provided an innovative conceptual framework that established his reputation as one of the most influential systematic theologians of the Vatican II era. Annual membership in the Karl Rahner Society includes a subscription to the journal. Philosophy & Theology is published bi-annually for Marquette University by the Philosophy Documentation Center.

Philosophy & Theology is indexed in Academic Search Premier, Current Abstracts, Expanded Academic ASAP, Index Philosophicus, InfoTrac OneFile, International Bibliography of Periodical Literature (IBZ), International Bibliography of Book Reviews of Scholarly Literature (IBR), the MLA International Bibliography, Periodicals Index Online, Philosopher's Index, Religion Index, and Religious and Theological Abstracts. Published authors include Shlomo Avineri, Nicholas Capaldi, Bernard Lonergan, Robert Masson, Nicholas Okrent, Daniel Pekarske, Nicholas Rescher, and Edith Wyschogrod.

Electronic access to Philosophy & Theology is provided through POIESIS: Philosophy Online Serials, and the fulltext of all issues published since 1986 (volume 1-present) is available to libraries that subscribe both to the journal and POIESIS. Tables of contents, searchable by author and title, are freely available through POIESIS to visitors who register here. Abstracts and tables of contents are available through EBSCO's Current Abstracts. Philosophy & Theology was one of the first academic journals to be available in electronic format (beginning in 1986) and it can still be ordered on CD-ROM.

For customers with limited access to the Internet the first ten volumes of Philosophy & Theology are also available on CD-ROM. Philosophy & Theology on CD-ROM: Volumes 1-10 contains the full text of the first 36 issues of the journal in a fully searchable electronic format.
