Copyright to the Philosophy Research Archives is held by the Philosophy Documentation Center. All content in volumes 1-14 (1975-1989) can be used under the Creative Commons Attribution publishing license (CC BY 4.0). Under this license you are free to:

• Share — copy and redistribute material from the journal in any medium or format
  
  
• Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material in the journal for any purpose

Authors are free to reuse their own articles in other publications they write or edit - no permission is required.

Open Access Archiving Policy

The Philosophy Research Archives (1975-1989) is now an open access publication. Authors may post the published version of their articles to open access web sites and document depositories whose terms of use are consistent with the Creative Commons Attribution publishing license (CC BY 4.0).

Electronic Preservation

Long-term preservation of Philosophy Research Archives in electronic format has been assured by the Philosophy Documentation Center through PORTICO and the CLOCKSS archive.
